YAWK
Fashion video production Morocco offers something few places can match: a location that works as a character in the film, not just a backdrop. Medina walls the color of terracotta, riad courtyards, desert dunes, and the Atlas mountains all sit within a few hours of Marrakech, and each one gives clothing a different story to move through.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Fashion video is judged on how clothing looks in motion. Fabric has to move, light has to flatter texture and color, and the person wearing the piece has to look like they belong in the frame. That makes it a different discipline from a corporate or product film. Pre-production is built around the collection: which pieces appear, in what order, what each one needs (a long skirt wants wind and space, a structured jacket wants stillness and a harder light), and how the whole film builds a mood instead of listing products.
Most fashion productions involve more than a film crew. A stylist, wardrobe, hair and makeup, and models or talent all have to be coordinated around a schedule driven by the light, and often by the heat. YAWK directs the film and works with the team the brand brings, coordinating local support where needed, so fittings, call times, and location access are settled before the shoot day, not during it.
Deliverables usually come in several versions from one shoot: a campaign film, shorter cuts for different uses, and sometimes a behind-the-scenes piece. Deciding the list in advance shapes how the shoot is framed.
YAWK is a director-led production company, so the look of a fashion film (framing, movement, color, and pace) is decided in advance instead of found in the edit. That is the standard described on our Philosophy page, and it matters more in fashion than almost anywhere else, because the footage is the product.
Our clients include Fashion Trust Arabia, and our luxury brand video production guide covers the standard we hold for high-end work, from hotels to events. For shoots inside a riad, our hotel and riad video production guide explains how those spaces are lit and moved through, and our film crew services in Morocco show how the crew scales to the size of the production.
The range of settings is the real argument for shooting here. The Marrakech medina and its riads offer texture, color, and shaded light. The Agafay desert, a short drive from the city, gives scale and clean horizons, and we have shot there. Further south, the dunes around Merzouga bring the most dramatic desert light in the country. In the other direction, Imlil and the Atlas mountains add altitude, snow in winter, and a very different palette, and we have worked there too.
Each location has its own light window. Sunrise and the hour before sunset do most of the work in the desert, while medina alleys can be shot at midday because the walls shade the light. Matching the collection to the right location, and the right location to the right hour, is part of the direction.
A few practical points decide whether a shoot runs smoothly. Heat, wind, and sand affect fabric and people, so wardrobe changes are planned close to vehicles and shade. Filming in public spaces and historic sites needs arrangement in advance, which is why access is confirmed in pre-production. Model releases and music rights should be agreed before delivery, not after the film is finished. And deciding where the film will be shown (a website, in-store screens, a launch event) before the shoot determines the formats you need.
Cost depends on the number of looks, locations, shoot days, crew size, and post-production, where color grading carries more weight than in most other productions. The variables behind any quote are covered in our corporate video cost guide for Morocco. A fashion film is often shot over one to three days, with the edit and grade following, and the timeline is usually set by the launch date it has to meet.
If you have a collection, a campaign, or a brand that needs to be seen in motion, tell us what you want to show, where, and by when. Send the brief and your launch date to contact@yawkteam.com, and we’ll come back with a plan for locations, shoot days, and the edit.

It depends on the collection. The medina and riads offer texture and color, Agafay and Merzouga offer scale and desert light, and Imlil and the Atlas offer mountain scenery. We match the location to the concept.
